The Nevada Consular Corps serves as a conduit between the State of Nevada and the global community it represents. As such, the NVCC is an integral and essential part of Nevada society and represents the state’s global footprint.
Honorary consuls are extremely valuable to both the country they represent and the host country. They augment their countries’ core diplomatic network while facilitating the exchange of ideas and initiatives. As such, they engage with political bodies, commercial organizations, cultural entities, and trade groups – and, by doing so, bridge the distance between their own district/state and the country they represent.
NVCC members also are the first point of contact between their respective expat communities and the home country. Honorary consuls may be able to assist with individual applications for (travel) documents and legal representations or registries. More complex matters may be referred to the consulate general – staffed by career diplomats – under whose jurisdiction they fall.
Honorary consuls tend to the wellbeing of their nationals and support numerous cultural exchange missions and programs related to their country. They are, in many senses, the face of their nation.
Businesses interested in trade and/or investment either in Nevada or in countries represented by the NVCC are urged to contact our members who may be able to provide relevant information and provide introductions to regulatory bodies and/or development promotion agencies.
The Nevada Consular Corps represents the consuls of foreign countries residing in the State of Nevada. The NVCC serves as a link between the state and the countries represented by the corps’ members. As such, the NVCC is part of the fabric of Nevada society and symbolizes the state’s global footprint.
The NVCC can help you get in contact with the consulate representing your home country which may be able to help you with official procedures such as the renewal of travel documents, among others. The NVCC also assists both Nevada companies and those of the countries represented by the corps who want to explore cross border business and/or investment opportunities.
Most countries maintain some form of diplomatic representation in the United States such as an embassy located in Washington, DC and/or one or more consulate generals staffed by professional and duly accredited diplomats. Most countries also maintain one or more honorary consulates. To find the nearest consulate of your country, and its contact details, please visit this website of the US Department of State where you can find a searchable list of all diplomatic missions to the United States.
NVCC membership is open to consuls and honorary consuls officially appointed by their government to represent its interests, and those of its citizens, in the State of Nevada, having been approved to do so by the US Department of State Office of Foreign Missions (OFM).
